2015 Fall Sewing Retreat- Locust Grove, OK (Part 2)

Hello and welcome back! Welcome to Part 2 of our 2015 Fall Sewing Retreat. Yikes! I needed to post about our 2015 Fall retreat before spring begins in 2016! In Part 1, I typed about how my sisters and Mom are fortunate to have been able to sync our schedule's three years in a row for a sewing retreat. The hostess rotation has changed each year and this year it was hosted by my sister DeAnna who recently moved from the Atlanta area to Locust Grove, Oklahoma. She has a large room above the garage that is her sewing studio. We had plenty of room for five sewing stations, a cutting station, pressing station and also her long arm and embroidery machine.

Part 1 showed you photos of our sewing days. This post is about our shop hop, which was also my Mom's birthday! Happy Birthday!

Our first stop was Rebecca's Quilt Shop in Kansas, Oklahoma.

Sew much inspiration on the walls and everywhere!

The next stop was The Cotton Cottage in Claremore, Oklahoma.

We ate a delicious lunch at the Hammett House in Claremore, Oklahoma!

A little Oklahoma history on a paper place mat.

While in Claremore we were on Route 66! Claremore is the home of Will Rogers.

Sweet Pea's Quilt Company in Sand Springs, Oklahoma was next.

Sew cute the way the store was decorated. They also had lots of inspiration in the store.

Moving on to Tulsa, Oklahoma to the Quilt Sampler!

More beautiful wall inspiration ...

and beautiful bolts of color on the shelves! Oh the eye candy!

Our last quilt shop stop was the Cotton Patch in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

We ended the fun shop hop day at Kilkenny's Irish Pub also in Tulsa.

This is how we helped the economy in the eastern Oklahoma area. Our purchases!

I hope you enjoyed hopping along with us! Be sure to come back to read Part 3 - the sewing projects we made at the retreat. If you missed Part 1 click here.

Have a blessed day!
Gina

  3. This was a really fun filled day. We visited some nice shops and enjoyed the chance to have this time together. And to top it off, it was a blessing to celebrate our Mom's birthday at the same time. Lots of wonderful memories!
